Position Overview:
The Director of Medical Operations will support multiple hospitals and directly supervise, coach and mentor IVP doctors and medical staff. This leader will collaborate with the Vice President of Medical Operations, IVP leadership team and Blue Heron Medical Team Coaches to ensure that company medical formulary, protocols and patient care guidelines are properly implemented across the portfolio of clinics and hospitals. This position will drive efforts to ensure company and hospital compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations specific to veterinary medicine.
The role requires frequent and consistent visits to hospital sites – managing hospital medical leadership and promoting operational synergies with teams and individuals to optimize clinical performance. Additionally, the Director of Medical Operations will work with the integration team and coaches to on-board new practices and help make the transition as smooth as possible.
Education and Experience:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent from accredited university
- Minimum 5 years of multi-unit medical operational leadership, with a strong performance track record
- Licensure and accreditation consistent with and necessary to practice veterinary medicine in the United States required.
- 2-5 years of experience as a leader of a management team of a rapidly growing business.
- Moderate proficiency Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word and Excel) and Teams
